Overview Research and Outreach Divisional Output
Research and Outreach

DSGD research is organized into the following five research and outreach programs across countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

The program is designed to provide research-based policy options on the role of public investments, their priorities and sequences for pro-poor growth and to identify institutional arrangements and government structures within which these limited resources can be mobilized and used most effectively.

The overarching goal of this program is to provide policy-relevant knowledge on strategies to improve governance for achieving pro-poor growth, especially in the context of agricultural and rural policies, such as: agricultural extension, land administration, decentralization, and political decision-making processes.

Development Strategy Research

The objectives of the program are to conduct research on strategies that can lead to higher pro-poor growth and to bridge the gap between research and policymaking.

Country and Regional Programs

Country or regional strategy support programs are intensive and sustained programs of research and capacity-building work undertaken by IFPRI within an individual country or region in close collaboration with local researchers and policy makers. The objective is to have a direct impact on poverty and food security in selected countries, while also generating results that can provide important information to other countries.

The objective of this program is to strengthen countries' and regional information and knowledge systems that help inform the design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of development strategies through the compilation of data, analysis, knowledge, and tools.

Strategies for Sustainable and Equitable Development Program

The overall objective of this research program is to improve country and regional development strategies by developing and testing conceptual approaches, practical tools, and information and knowledge systems to help policymakers choose and implement poverty, hunger-reduction, and general development strategies.
