This research explores the linkages between water management and access, gender, and human health. Particular attention will be paid to water quality assessment, health and nutrition, water management and the incidence of diseases such as malaria, and the gender implications of water management and access. Specific sub-topics include:

• Implications of water access (or lack thereof) and management for women
• Water management and waterborne diseases
• Rural water quality management
