Abstract
How do donors support modern agricultural science in Africa? Why do some global pressure groups oppose the use of modern biotechnology? What impact does the negative attitude on biotechnology have on poverty and hunger in rural Africa? Robert Paarlberg will share highlights from his new book Starved for Science: How Biotechnology Is Being Kept out of Africa, and Eija Pehu will comment and address the implications of denying technological access to African farmers.
Books will be available for sale the day of the event.
