Ruth Meinzen-Dick is the coordinator of the System-Wide Program on Collective Action and Property Rights (CAPRi), an inter-center research initiative of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research based at IFPRI. CAPRi focuses on ways collective action and property rights institutions influence the efficiency, equity, and sustainability of natural resource use in developing countries. Her property rights research includes both water rights and gender issues. A citizen of the United States, Meinzen-Dick was raised in India and received a Ph.D. in development sociology from Cornell University.

Esther Mwangi joined the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) with the System-Wide Program on Collective Action and Property Rights (CAPRi) in 2004. Her research focuses on institutions for natural resources management, property rights, and institutional change. Prior to joining IFPRI, Mwangi was a consultant with the World Agroforestry Centre's Environmental Services Theme and with OXFAM's Regional Pastoralism Program for East/Horn of Africa. She previously served as a research scientist with the Kenya Wildlife Service. A native of Kenya, Mwangi received a Ph.D. in public policy from Indiana University.
