Nov 28, 2017

Quartz Africa published a feature on a recent IFPRI research by Nienke Beintema on shrinking gender gap in agricultural research in Africa south of the Sahara. In the article, Beintema pointed out that hiring and promoting more African women improves the quality and competitiveness of research and innovation. “Female researchers offer different insights from their male counterparts, and their input provides an important perspective in addressing the unique and pressing challenges of female farmers,” said Beintema.
