Improving Investments, Policies, and Productivity Is Key to Meeting Growing Demand for Food & Combating Hunger

Global demand for major grains is projected to increase by nearly 48 percent from 2000-2025 and by 70 percent between 2000 and 2050. Per capita meat consumption will also increase in many developing regions of the world and it will more than double in Sub-Saharan Africa from 2000-2050, leading to a doubling of total meat consumption by 2050.
