Alam Mondal is a Research Fellow in the Environment and Production Technology Division at IFPRI. Dr. Mondal joined IFPRI in 2014. His work focuses on energy policy, energy roadmaps development, renewable energy technologies, renewable energy readiness assessment, renewable energy potential, strategy towards low-carbon society and sustainable development. Alam Mondal earned a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences from Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany in 2010 and Master of Science in Energy Systems and Management from University of Flensburg, Germany in 2005. He has worked with University of Alberta, Canada, Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Alam Mondal has won the best doctoral award for the significant contributions of his PhD thesis by ZEF, University of Bonn, Germany in 2012. He has authored two books and published several papers on energy related issues in well-respected journals. He has significant professional as well as academic experience in the field of energy policy and sustainable development.
