Ehsanul Haque Tamal joined the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) as Senior Research Analyst in the Environment and Production Technology Division (EPTD) in 2014. He is working with the ongoing activities of the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA) from IFPRI-Dhaka.
Prior to joining IFPRI, Tamal worked as senior research officer in Democracy International and BBC Media Action. Previously, he worked in the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Bangladesh Investment Climate Fund (BICF) program as research associate and Bangladesh Center for Communication Program (successor of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg University Center for Communication Programs) as research officer. Throughout his career, he has worked in the policy and behavioral research studies focusing on governance, resilience, health, education and agriculture.
Tamal received a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Statistics from Jahangirnagar University; and a Masters in Development Studies (MDS) from Dhaka University, specializing on Environment and Development.
