Elena Martinez



Senior Research Assistant


Elena Martinez joined IFPRI as a senior research assistant in the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH) in March 2017. Elena works in A4NH’s Gender, Equity, and Empowerment and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning units, and is involved in research about measuring women’s empowerment in agricultural development projects.

Prior to joining IFPRI, Elena worked on global health research, focusing on antibiotic use and resistance, at the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy in Washington, DC. She holds a master of science (concentrating in nutrition and agricultural policy) and a master of public health (concentrating in epidemiology and biostatistics) from Tufts University, and a bachelor of arts in ecology and evolutionary biology from Princeton University.
