Fatima Zaidi joined the Environment and Production Technology Division at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in 2011. She is currently Program Manager with the Agricultural Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Program based in Washington, DC. Her research interests lie at the intersection of political economy of development, public policy and agricultural economics.
Prior to joining IFPRI, she worked as a consultant for Foundation Escalera on an educational incentives program in Chiapas, Mexico. She worked at the UN Headquarters in the summer of 2010 in the Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies for Development (GAID). Previously, she worked as a research analyst in the Chief Minister’s Special Monitoring Unit (SMU) in Punjab, Pakistan.
She graduated from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University with a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA), specializing in Advanced Policy and Economic Analysis. She completed her B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 2008.
