James Hawkins joined IFPRI in September of 2014 as a Senior Research Assistant in the Environment and Production Technology Division. His research focus is on developing and implementing bio-economic models to address issues related to the sustainability of agricultural production. Prior to joining IFPRI, James completed a M.Sc. in Food, Agricultural, and Resource Economics from the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada) in 2014. His thesis used bio-economic modelling to identify cost effective greenhouse gas mitigation strategies in the Ontario dairy sector. Prior to this, James completed a B.A.(Honours) Economics in 2012, also from the University of Guelph.
