Mike Murphy joined IFPRI in 2011 as a Senior Research Assistant in the Markets, Trade and Institutions division. Mike provides support to a number of projects focused on promoting market access in Latin America and Africa. He specializes in implementing digital data collection projects in rural areas.
Mike Murphy received his Masters in Public Policy, focusing on international development, from Georgetown University in 2011. During his time at Georgetown, he also managed a graduate project in Honduras focused on improving access to safe water. Prior to his graduate studies, Mike worked internationally as an ESL teacher and holds a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh.
