Ricardo Hernandez is a Research Coordinator in the Poverty, Health, and Nutrition Division, and the Deputy Chief of Party of the Bangladesh Policy Research and Strategy Support Program (PRSSP). He joined IFPRI in 2012. He brings proven and relevant expertise in agricultural supply/value chain development, food security, farm mechanization and technology adoption, and rural nonfarm employment by smallholders in developing countries. He has extensive field experience working in Bangladesh, Myanmar, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, and has been involved in studies in Mexico, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Zambia. He received a PhD in agricultural, food and resource economics from Michigan State University, with a specialization in finance and production economics.
