Sandra Perez works for the Agricultural Science and Technology Indicators (ASTI) program at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Sandra manages ASTI data collection and dissemination projects in Latin America and the Caribbean in collaboration with international partners and supports ASTI’s work in Africa south of the Sahara. She is responsible for conducting field visits and interviews with key country focal points, maintaining datasets, and co-authoring dissemination materials. Before joining IFPRI in 2012, she was a policy advisor for the Government of Colombia on sustainable use of biodiversity and on agribusiness. Sandra holds bachelor’s degrees in Biology and in Microbiology and a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Development from the University of the Andes.
