Klaus von Grebmer, a citizen of Switzerland, is director of IFPRI's Communications Division. His work focuses on ways to communicate IFPRI's research findings to policymakers in developing countries and to key stakeholders in developed countries in order to enhance IFPRI's impact and reputation throughout the world. Klaus joined IFPRI in 1999. Before that, Klaus worked for 26 years in the private sector as a business consultant, health economist, and senior manager in communications and issues management. In 1998 he joined the World Bank within its Staff Exchange Program and was a principal operations officer in rural development. He earned master's and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Kiel University, Germany.
