Abusaleh Shariff is a Senior Research Fellow at the New Delhi Office. He has conducted research in the fields of development economics, human development, poverty studies, demography and health economics, labour and social Security, social sector budgetary analysis and micro-impact of economic reforms. Prior to joining IFPRI he was Chief Economist and specialist in Human Development at the National Council of Applied Economics Research, India. He earned his M.A. from Bangalore University, India, his Ph.D from the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia, and conducted post-doctoral research at the Economic University Center, Yale University, USA.
