Afua Branoah Banful joined the Development Strategy and Governance group of IFPRI in August 2008. She has a BSc in Materials Science and Engineering (2003) and a BSc in Economics (2003) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She holds a PhD in Economics (2008) from Harvard University. Her fields of concentration were development economics and public finance. Her current research interests are in political economy and the development of institutions that are tailored to suit the structures of governance in developing countries.
