Angelino C. G. Viceisza obtained his Ph.D. in economics from Georgia State University in 2008. His fields of interest are game theory and econometrics, specifically applied to questions in experimental and development economics. Angelino joined IFPRI in fall 2007 as a post-doctoral fellow with the primary mandate to incorporate behavioral experiments into IFPRI’s core research agenda. Since, he has established the IFPRI Mobile Experimental Economics Laboratory (IMEEL), a research laboratory that can be carried into the field to study the behavior of the (rural) poor using both computer- and paper-based methods.

Thematically, Angelino’s work has spanned a broad set of topics including crime, social protection, remittances, norm unraveling and measurement of risk attitudes. Geographically, his research has focused on El Salvador, Ethiopia, Peru, Senegal and Vietnam, among other countries.
