Angelino C. G. Viceisza obtained his Ph.D. in economics from Georgia State University in December 2007. His fields of interest are game theory and econometrics, specifically applied to questions in experimental and development economics. Angelino joined IFPRI in fall 2007 as a post-doctoral fellow with the primary mandate to incorporate behavioral experiments into IFPRI’s core research agenda. Since, he has established the IFPRI Mobile Experimental Economics Laboratory (IMEEL), a research laboratory that can be carried into the field to study the behavior of the (rural) poor.

Thematically, Angelino’s work has spanned a broad set of topics including the economics of crime and social exclusion (e.g., corruption and theft of physical mail), the economics of social protection (e.g., insurance) and the economics of rural-urban linkages (e.g., remittances). Geographically, his research has focused on Peru, El Salvador, Ethiopia and Vietnam. Angelino also holds an MA in economics from Boston University, an MA in economics with a policy focus from Georgia State University, an MBA in international business from Temple University and a BS in accounting from the University of the Netherlands Antilles. Angelino is from Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles.
