Camila Alva joined IFPRI as a Research Assistant, in June of 2009. She holds a B.A. in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and has also taken courses at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Before joining IFPRI headquarters, Camila worked as a research assistant for Macroconsult, and then for IFPRI and the Group for the Analysis of Development (GRADE) in Lima. She has experience in developing typologies of rural micro regions for various Latin American countries as well as conducting impact evaluations. She is from Lima, Peru.

Main Projects:

  • Bottleneck analysis and prioritization of investment for development of the rural sierra of Peru.
  • Assessing Impact of Increased Global Food Prices on the Poor in Selected Latin American Countries.
  • Impact Evaluation Design for Connectivity and Rural electrification interventions in El Salvador.
