Carmen Estrades joined the Markets, Trade and Institutions Division at IFPRI as a Research Assistant in August 2009. At MTID, she works as a Research Assistant as part of the Globalization and Markets Team. Her current areas of research are Trade Liberalization and Poverty, and Regional Trade Agreements. Before joining IFPRI, she worked as a senior research and teaching assistant in the International Trade Division at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, and University of the Republic (Uruguay) for five years. She also worked at Trade Policy Advisory at the Ministry of Economics in Uruguay for almost one year. She holds a BA in Economics and a BA in Political Science, both from the University of the Republic in Uruguay, her country of origin, and is currently enrolled as a PhD student in the University of Pau, France.
