Before joining IFPRI in late 2009, Chris worked with a number of development organizations based in Europe developing their web presence through Europe’s Forum for International Cooperation. He was director of One World Europe a non profit based and held positions at the European Centre for Development Policy Management, also in the Netherlands, as director of the consultancy Communiq.org in Ireland and as Telecommunications manager at the Natural Resources Institute in the UK. He served on the executive committee of the European Association for Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI) and was a convenor of their Information Management Working Group. He has 15 years of experience working with International cooperation and development organizations on the web working across Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.

In his role as head of web communications he oversees development and running of the IFPRI web sites and supports the development of IFPRI facilitated portals. He continues to be involved with projects looking at web use around the world with a particular focus on matching technology approaches to international audiences. This has involved the development of research communications workshops integrating web use as part of the process. He is currently developing detailed evaluations of the reach of IFPRI websites using a number of website evaluation tools and methods. and has a particular interest in the development of linked data for content management.
