Dena Leibman is IFPRI’s Head of Outreach, coordinating the team responsible for social media, web, press and stakeholder outreach, conferences and meetings, and videography. Dena has more than 26 years’ experience in science and policy communications, with an undergraduate degree in environmental biology and a master’s in journalism. She has worked for such organizations as the National Wildlife Federation, EPA – and most recently for the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program, where she developed and implemented a strategic communications plan for the organization. Dena and her family split their time between Silver Spring and a farm in Maryland’s Catoctin Mountains, where they raise sheep and a healthy crop of weeds.
