Karl joined IFPRI in June 2009 as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Development Strategy and Governance Division. He was initially based in the Washington D.C. office, after which he joined IFPRI’s Malawi Strategy Support Program in Lilongwe, Malawi in August 2010. His research interests include: development and agricultural policy analysis; microeconomic analyses of labor markets, poverty, welfare, and nutrition; CGE modeling and micro-simulation modeling; ex ante evaluation of distributional effects of macro- and micro-policies; and economic impacts and mitigation of climate change and extreme weather events.
