Kenda Cunningham, a Sr. Research Assistant in the Development Strategy and Governance Division, joined IFPRI in October 2008 to support the Millions Fed project. She holds an MA in Latin American Studies and a certificate in Immigration, Refugees, and Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

Prior to joining IFPRI, Kenda worked at Save the Children, the International Debate Education Association, and the Carter Center. Working in the education field, she has directed debate programs at several high schools and at Georgetown University, as well as workshops in Bulgaria, Venezuela, and the Czech Republic. Kenda has an extensive background focusing on youth development, poverty reduction, and education. She has lived and worked in Argentina, Brazil, and Peru.
