Kuntal joined IFPRI in 2009. He is working as a Country Coordinator for the Monitoring & Evaluation component of Alive & Thrive Initiative in Bangladesh. Kuntal is a medical doctor, trained later in public health and international nutrition. He did his MPH from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium and PhD in international nutrition from Cornell University, USA. Before joining IFPRI, Kuntal worked at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B) for thirteen years. His area of work includes maternal and child nutrition. More specifically, he has been involved in research related to household food security, infant and young child feeding, and growth and development of infants and young children in low-income countries. Kuntal has a number of significant publications in renowned international journals.
