Kwaw Andam conducts research on market segmentation for agricultural inputs and the effectiveness of agricultural research for development. His research on the linkages between land use policy, land cover change, and poverty reduction was awarded the Fisher Dissertation Fellowship from Resources for the Future in 2007. Prior to joining IFPRI, he worked as a consultant at the World Bank, monitoring and evaluating projects in the Middle East and North Africa Region.

Kwaw earned a B.Sc. (first class honors) in civil engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana; an M.S. in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Vermont; an M.A. in economics from Georgia State University; and a Ph.D. in public policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University. He joined IFPRI as a postdoctoral fellow in January 2008.
