Michael Johnson
Michael Johnson, a research fellow in the Development Strategy and Governance Division, joined IFPRI in 2002 after serving two years at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) as an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Diplomacy Fellow. Michael received a B.A. in International Relations from American University's School of International Service, an M.S. in Business Economics from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University. His research interests lie primarily in African agricultural development, including technology systems development and transfer, rural infrastructure and institutions, and market development. At IFPRI, Michael is working as part of a technical support team assisting USAID with their Initiative to End Hunger in Africa (IEHA).
