Mourad joined IFPRI in 2009 as a nutritionist in HarvestPlus. His current research focuses on the evaluation of the usefulness of biofortified crops for the reduction of malnutrition in the developing world. Before joining IFPRI, Mourad worked in Madagascar on the development and validation of indicators of child feeding. He also worked on the evaluation of the impact of child feeding programs in Vietnam and Burkina Faso and as a consultant for the World Health Organization in Oman.

An Egyptian/French binational, Mourad received his PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Paris 6 (France) and his Masters in Public Health Nutrition from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK).
