Patrick Ward joined IFPRI as a postdoctoral fellow in the Environment and Production Technology Division in April 2012. He will be based in the New Delhi office, from where he will contribute to the ongoing work of the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA) project. He earned a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University (USA) in 2011 with a specialization in International Development. Prior to joining IFPRI, Patrick spent five months as a postdoctoral visiting researcher with the International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG) in Venice, Italy. Patrick’s research focuses on economic dimensions of vulnerability and behavioral responses to risk, the implications of climate change for agricultural development, and the economic and social impacts of climate-related disasters and disaster risk reduction.
