Renato (Jun) Folledo joined IFPRI in April 2009 as a Research Analyst. He is from Philippines who received his undergraduate and master’s degree in Forestry specializing in Biometry from the University of the Philippines in 1995 and 2000, respectively. He got a second master’s degree in Forestry and a Geospatial Information Technology Certificate from Virginia Tech in 2009, specializing in Spatial Statistics and GIS Uncertainty. At Virginia Tech, he developed pioneering statistical tools that derive median-based linear and nonlinear trend projection systems. He has 13 years of experience as a researcher working on GIS analysis/programming, and agroecosystem/watershed hydrology simulations and modeling. While working as a university research associate at the Forestry Development Center in University of the Philippines Los Banos, he served as a GIS and hydrological modeling consultant to various non-government organizations which include Resources, Environment and Economics Center for Studies, Inc. (REECS) and World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), to name a few.
