Shalini Roy is a postdoctoral fellow in the Poverty, Health, and Nutrition Division. Her research focuses on households’ economic behavior underlying food security, human capital formation, and intrahousehold dynamics. Much of her work involves quantitative analysis of programs’ impacts on these outcomes, as well as on the pathways through which impacts occur. She is particularly interested in interventions related to early childhood development and to women’s status in the household.
Shalini joined IFPRI in 2009. She holds a B.A. in economics and mathematics from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
