Tsitsi Makombe, a Zimbabwean national, joined the Development Strategy and Governance Division of IFPRI in 2005. Before joining IFPRI she worked as a Research Associate at the Partnership to Cut Hunger and Poverty in Africa in Washington DC. At the Partnership, her research focused on examining trade trends under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and exploring opportunities for increasing Africa’s agricultural exports to the U.S. At IFPRI, Tsitsi is part of a team that examines Africa’s progress and investment requirements towards meeting the first Millennium Development Goal (MDG). She also provides technical support to the U.S Initiative to End Hunger in Africa (IEHA). Tsitsi received her BSc degree in Agriculture and Natural Resources from Africa University in Zimbabwe and an MSc degree in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University.
