Source: Nico HeerinkIFPRI will strive to promote further dialogue between Chinese researchers, policy advisors, decisionmakers, IFPRI research staff, civil society, and international organizations, both at the national level, where most policies are formulated, and the local level, where Chinese administrative systems have been decentralized. IFPRI will actively engage in a policy dialogue with the main government bodies that are in charge of rural development policies, such as the ministries of Agriculture, Commerce, Finance, Poverty Alleviation, Education, Health, Water Resources, and Land Resources.
The program will make full use of the wide range of communication tools available, emphasizing the bilingual nature of all research and outreach products and events, such as
- conferences and consultations, where agricultural policies are often formulated;
- media, so that a broader audience may be reached through the local media (newspapers, radio, television, and Internet);
- publications, such as shorter policy-oriented documents for decisionmakers and civil society; and
- networks of partners and collaborators, to be developed and kept in the public domain.
