Researchers have made important progress in understanding the role of gender in development, but it is not always easy to incorporate their findings into development policies and projects. In celebration of International Women's Day, the International Food Policy Research Institute and InterAction will cohost a panel discussion on "Translating Gender Research Into Action." The discussion is based on a forthcoming practitioner's guide entitled Food Security in Practice: Using Gender Research in Development, by Agnes R. Quisumbing and Bonnie McClafferty of IFPRI. Panelists will discuss how empirical research findings on gender can improve development work and how to effectively incorporate the findings into project and policy cycles to strengthen their design and performance. The presentations will be followed by open discussion. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to Simone Hill Lee (Tel: 202.862.8107; s.hill-lee@cgiar.org).
