SAKSS Regional Workshop-East Africa

ABSTRACT
From August 12-14, USAID partners involved in the Presidential Signature Initiative to End Hunger in Africa (IEHA) in eastern and central Africa held a workshop in Entebbe, Uganda. This workshop brought together several USAID Missions and their technical partners from the sub-region that have or will develop IEHA Action Plans in their investment portfolios, or will most likely benefit from regional spillovers. Participants included AFR-SD and EGAT from Washington, the local regional Mission (REDSO) from Nairobi, the Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Rwanda bi-lateral Missions, the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF), Michigan State University, Tegemeo Institute (Kenya), Chemonics, and Land-o-Lakes. The theme was the development of a regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System (SAKSS) network.
