IMPACT Distributed Version (IMPACT-D)
Summary

With widespread interest in the International Model for Policy Analysis of Agricultural Commodities and Trade (IMPACT) projections, we have developed a distributable version of IMPACT (known as "IMPACT Distributed Version" or "IMPACT-D" for short) that interested parties can download from the IFPRI website to install on their own machines to develop and run their own scenario analyses without the need to know high-level math computer programming-in this case, the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS).

IMPACT-D works on top of freeware versions of the main software packages used for the model. Currently, IMPACT-D allows users to adjust assumptions for growth in (i) yield, (ii) crop area/herd size, (iii) irrigation, (iv) population, and (v) income by country (for i-v), by time period (for i, ii, and iv), and by commodity (for i-iii).

IMPACT-D was derived from the model that was used for the Fish to 2020 reports with 36 world regions and 32 commodities. See the suggested reading for more information.
