OBJECTIVES
To review agricultural policies in South Asia during the 1990s to the present and their relation to trade agreements;
To provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange views on the agricultural trade and trade related policies of each of the individual South Asian countries
To enhance participants’ understanding of AoA, SPS, IPR, and TBT in order to improve the negotiations of South Asian countries under WTO;
To discuss how SPS issues will affect South Asian trade and how South Asia should be preparing to meet the demands of SPS; and
To learn how intellectual property rights will impact trade in South Asia and what South Asia should be doing to limit its negative impact on trade.
