| Award |
Three-year doctoral training fellowship starting in July 2001 |
| Topic of Study |
Distribution patterns, gene flow and dispersal capabilities of anopheline mosquito populations at three different ecological sites along the Kenya coast. |
| Summary of Project |
The malaria vectorial system along the Kenyan coast comprises Anopheles gambiae sensu stricto, An. arabiensis, An. merus, and An. funestus. It is of interest to know if they differ in their dispersal, vectorial capacity, and other bionomic factors of epidemiological importance. |
| Eligibility |
Applicants must be nationals of African countries and must have the following qualifications: B.Sc. in a biological science, with minimum upper second class or equivalent; M.Sc. with coursework and thesis research preferably on malaria vectors; relevant research experience (university and medical research institution staff eligible for study leave are preferred); maximum age of 34 years; and eligibility for registration at an accredited university. |
