  2. The Effectiveness of Small-scale Agriculture Interventions on Household Food Security: A Review of Literature
    The effectiveness of small-scale agriculture interventions on household food security was prepared for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Inter Pares, Oxfam Canada, Partners in Rural Development, Program Against Hunger, Malnutrition and Disease, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), and International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The Sustainable Livelihoods (SL) framework used in the study emphasizes the physical, financial, social, human, and natural capital assets for the development of agriculture interventions. Along with the SL framework and its assets, the International Food Policy Research Institute's (IFPRI's) causal model is used to reflect on the nature of the effectiveness of small-scale agriculture interventions on household food security.     The International Foundation for Science (IFS) offers research grants for young scientists of developing countries. Applicants must have a Master of Science (MSc) or equivalent degree, and should be working at a university or research institution in a developing country.     The Global Development Network (GDN) has launched an electronic newsletter, which contains the latest funding opportunities for social science researchers in developing countries.     The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has published the book "Agricultural Biotechnology, Poverty Reduction, and Food Security." It provides information on the effective and safe use of agricultural biotechnology, examines the opportunities and risks of using biotechnology in reducing poverty and achieving food security in Asia, looks at the relevant policies and strategies for ADB, and analyzes the task of managing biotechnology for the benefit of small farmers in Asia.     Asian NGO Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ANGOC)
    The Asian NGO Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development was founded in 1979 to address key issues related to agrarian reform, sustainable agriculture, and rural development. It is a regional association of 20 national and regional networks of non-government organizations (NGOs) from 10 Asian countries that currently reaches 3000 NGOs in Asia.
