  5. Forum for Food Security in Southern Africa
    This project is funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), United Kingdom, and implemented by a consortium of institutions in the United Kingdom and Southern Africa. It supports strategic thinking on food security issues in Southern Africa by facilitating a forum of specialists and key policy stakeholders from the international and regional research community, donors, NGOs, civil society, and the private sector. It produces policy papers and hosts a combination of moderated electronic discussions and workshops on key policy options. The work will focus in five countries: Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.   6. Ending Famine in the 21st Century
    This program coordinated by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is based on the belief that global eradication of famine is achievable in the foreseeable future. The objective of this research is to contribute to a new policy agenda for famine prevention. This program, funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), will bring together academics, policymakers, and practitioners from Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America to present and debate salient issues and case studies, to consolidate our understanding of why famine persists, and to help develop a new global policy agenda for its prevention.   7. Biosafety and Risk Assessment in Agricultural Biotechnology: A Workbook for Technical Training
    The Agricultural Biotechnology Support Project (ABSP), Michigan State University, has published this workbook, which was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
