    African Capacity Building Foundation
    The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) is an independent, capacity-building institution based in Harare, Zimbabwe. It was established in 1991 through the collaborative efforts of the African Development Bank, the World Bank, and the United Nations Development Programme. The Foundation's principal objectives are to build and strengthen sustainable indigenous capacity for macroeconomic policy analysis and development management throughout Sub-Saharan Africa; improve the channeling of donor support for capacity building; contribute to programs aimed at reversing the continent's brain drain and encouraging intensive use of existing capacity; build capacity in key areas of the public sector, with emphasis on the interface between the public sector on the one hand and the private sector and civil society on the other; and provide support for regional initiatives in research and training.     United Nations (UN) System Network on Rural Development and Food Security
    The United Nations (UN) System Network on Rural Development and Food Security is a global partnership that brings together key actors at the country level to achieve food security and reduce rural poverty. The network comprises 20 UN organizations that participate in and support national thematic groups on rural development and food security. So far 80 national thematic groups have been formed, each one defining its own agenda according to national needs. The network helps governments and their partners implement the World Food Summit Plan of Action and rural development and food security programs; reinforces ties between UN system organizations and other stakeholders, notably nongovernmental and civil society organizations; fosters synergies between network members; and exchanges and disseminates information, experiences, and best practices.
