  4. Datasets
IFPRI Dataset: Tanzania: Social Accounting Matrices (SAMs), 1998-2001
The 1998-2001 Social Accounting Matrices for Tanzania were produced through the collaboration of the Tanzanian National Bureau of Statistics, Bank of Tanzania, Tanzanian Revenue Authority, University of Dar es Salaam, and the Economic and Social Research Foundation. These SAMs incorporate an input-output table, a labor force survey, and a household budget survey. The matrices distinguish between 43 productive sectors and the commodities they produce. They also include nine labor categories disaggregated according to education, gender, and child labor and twelve household categories distinguished by three criteria: (i) urban or rural, (ii) below, between, or above the two national poverty lines, and (iii) education level of the head of the household. The SAMs also include agricultural and non-agricultural capital and agricultural land.
