    Wikibooks Portal
    Wikibooks is an open content textbook collection supported by the Wikimedia Foundation. It currently has over 20,000 modules, including instructional resources, annotated texts, and articles based on text from its sister site Wikipedia. Contributors maintain the property rights to their contributions, but anyone is able to edit them. Wikibooks is available in a variety of languages.

    The Global Development Network (GDN) and the British Library of Development Studies (BLDS) Document Delivery Service
    The GDN/BLDS Document Delivery Service is a free library service provided to research institutes in developing and transition countries. The Document Delivery Service, which can be accessed by specified individuals from organizations maintaining a profile on GDNet allows you to search the BLDS online catalogue of development-related resources, and to order materials, from your desktop. With the click of a button, a BLDS librarian will receive your request and send the article or book chapter to you via post or email. BLDS holds Europe's largest research collection on economic and social change in developing countries, with extensive coverage of Southern publications, particularly from Africa and South and East Asia.

  2. Electronic Data Resources
    Agro-Maps
    The CD-ROM version of Agro-MAPS, a global spatial database of agricultural land-use statistics, is now available from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (see FAO Land and Water Digital Media Series, Number 32). The Spatial Analysis and Research Group (SPARG) of IFPRI initiated this effort, which is now hosted and managed by FAO.

    FAST, available from the University of Illinois, is a suite of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets designed to aid those involved in agriculture in performing financial analysis, assessing investment decisions, and evaluating the impacts of various management decisions.

  3. Datasets
    IFPRI Dataset: China: Government Expenditure, Growth, Poverty, and Infrastructure, 1952-2001
    These data were compiled by IFPRI from the China Statistical Yearbook, China Rural Statistical Yearbook, China Fixed Asset Investment Yearbook, China Education Expenditure Statistical Yearbook, World Bank, Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology, China Transportation Yearbook and other sources. The dataset provides information on key economic indicators, agricultural output and inputs, public investments, poverty, and various social indicators in China. Cross-section (29 provinces) and time-series (50 years) data are included in this dataset. The dataset consists of 50 variables and is available in Microsoft Excel format.
