  1. Rural Innovation Systems Information Portal
    Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), Amsterdam, recently launched an information portal on Rural Innovation Systems (RIS). The portal not only provides free access to full-text electronic documents on RIS but also offers relevant links to newsletters, discussion groups, websites, and bibliographic databases, as well as access to directories of organizations and projects.

  2. Free Access to Knowledge Management Articles
    The journal Development in Practice, United Kingdom, is offering free access to selected knowledge management articles from its archives until May 8, 2007. The offer includes all articles from the November 2006 issue.

    International Statistical Institute (ISI), Netherlands, offers an extensive list of free statistical tools and learning resources available on the web. Information includes data sets, general statistical textbooks, email lists, software, and websites related to special topics such as epidemiology, forecasting, data presentation, and data editing.

  4. Toolkit: Disseminating Research Online
    The Global Development Network (GDN) offers a toolkit for disseminating research online. Drawing on best practices from the information and commercial worlds, the toolkit provides tips and practical suggestions related to communicating academic research using the internet.  It also offers support for organizations that do not have websites and links to resources on creating a comprehensive dissemination strategy.

  5. Guide to Successful Communications
    The European Commission offers an online “Guide to Successful Communications” to assist project coordinators and team leaders in effectively generating publicity about the objectives and results of their work. The guide particularly addresses communications via TV, radio, and the print press, as well as through internally produced materials like websites, CDs, video, and print publications. The "Communicating Science: A Scientist's Survival Kit" brochure is also available in PDF form on the site.

  6. IFPRI Dataset: Thailand: Social Accounting Matrix (SAM), 1998
    The 1998 Social Accounting Matrix for Thailand has 60 sectors, 3 household types, 3 factors (labor, agricultural capital, and nonagricultural capital), 2 enterprise types (public and private), a government account, and a rest-of-the-world account. There are 7 agricultural sectors: paddy rice, vegetables, fruit, other crops, livestock, fishing, and forestry. The other sectors can be categorized into energy intensive manufacturing industries, other manufacturing industries, primary energy sectors, transportation sectors, and service sectors. The dataset also has an accompanying discussion paper that describes its construction and use.
