Training workshop was attended by 40 Food Policy Analysts from the Minstries of Food, Planning and Agriculture.
Dhaka, July 2000 - POVERTY REDUCTION ISSUES FOR THE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS OF ASIAN COUNTRIES
This workshop was organized by the Asian Development Bank Institute in cooperation with IFPRI and UN-ESCAP. About 35 participants from 20 countries attended. Key areas of training included: poverty measurement and analysis, developing poverty reduction strategies, poverty monitoring and evaluation, and participatory approaches to poverty reduction. Examples from IFPRI research on poverty monitoring in Egypt, Mozambique and Malawi were used as case studies.

Co-sponsored by IFPRI, Bangladesh National Nutrition Council, and the Institute of Food Nutrition Science at the University of Dhaka. At the International Center for Diarrhoeal Disease Control, Dhaka Bangladesh.
IFPRI researchers and their collaborators presented their findings from recent field studies on intrahousehold effects of development, nutrition and health. Working group sessions provided opportunity for in-depth discussion on issues, critical gaps in knowledge, and further research needs.
