Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
This is the final training seminar in a series of three that provided participants with GIS-enabled analytical techniques likely to be useful in their work as policy analysts and researchers. The overall purpose of the training was to build or strengthen the capacity of rural policy analysts and researchers to understand, examine, and potentially apply spatial analysis techniques. Participants came from various Ministries, Authorities, National & Regional Agricultural Research Centers and Universities.
The training consisted of both conceptual overviews of spatial issues related to rural development and analytical techniques that can be used to address them, as well as skill development using a leading professional GIS software package: ArcGIS version 9 from Environmental Systems Research Institute.
