Jowel Choufani is a Research Analyst at the Environment and Production Technology Division (EPTD) at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Her current work focuses on the intersections between climate change, agriculture, nutrition, and gender equality. Prior to joining IFPRI, Jowel was a Research Assistant at the American University of Beirut (AUB) working on a school feeding program in Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut. Jowel was also a consultant for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and analyzed data on the health and access to services of refugees in Lebanon. Jowel is a licensed dietitian in Lebanon and has an MSc in Nutrition for Global Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
