Following CGIAR’s decisions at its Annual General Meeting in October 2003 to merge ISNAR with IFPRI and to relocate operations from The Hague to Addis Ababa, the new ISNAR, as a Division of IFPRI, came into being on April 1, 2004.
SC is pleased to note the overall positive performance of the Centre during the period under review.
Within IFPRI there is widespread recognition of the fact that research is not an end in itself, but can only have meaning and impact once the results are effectively communicated.
The Panel made four recommendations covering IFPRI's research work, stressing water and globalization, outreeach activities, impact assessment, and the relevance of IFPRI's activities.
