Lina Alaaeldin Abdelfattah

Lina Alaaeldin Abdelfattah is a Senior Research Associate in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit, based in Cairo. Her research interests include applied economic development, trade, and spatial economics, with a focus on topics relevant to social protection, food, nutrition, and agriculture in the Middle East and Africa.

This seminar will examine how legal, institutional, and policy frameworks grounded in the right to food can improve the actions States take to improve food security.

The presentation will cover recent developments in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, where a right-to-food movement considers accountability and participation as key to achieving sustainable success in food security strategies.
