International food prices have become increasingly volatile in recent decades, with “global food crises” in 2008, 2011 and most recently in 2022.

International prices of food commodities continued to decrease in January 2023 especially for vegetable oils, sugar, dairy, and meat.

This study contributes to the growing literature on dietary quality and accessibility in the Global South.
